Welcome to the Library
Serving the public since 1931, the Frankford Public Library offers an array of services and programs tailored towards Delaware’s ever-growing population. The library hosts a number of programs for both adults and children. Adults can take part in our always popular monthly book clubs, functional movement classes, Scrabble, knitting and crocheting, and children will find themselves treated to reading programs, story times, art classes, Minecraft, LEGOS and much more. For more information, you can check out our monthly event calendar and Facebook page– it provides full details on everything the library has planned in the near future.
The library book collection is about 12,000 volumes, with new titles added every week, and our DVD collection holds over 1,400 titles. Apart from our book and media collections, we also provide access to countless online databases. Our collection will provide you more than novels – you can find manuals, self-help guides, encyclopedia information, citizenship toolkits and other resources in the Delaware library system. Full information – including how to log into your online library account – can be found in our resources section.
The Frankford Library also offers a comprehensive Spanish-language program that includes Spanish-speaking staff that can answer your questions about the library, literacy, citizenship and more. Also available is a Spanish Language Children’s story time and a growing collection of Spanish-language books, magazines, audiobooks, and DVDs.
If there are materials you want that you don't find on our shelves, we are happy to borrow them from another library even if it is in another state. The Frankford Library is always ready to serve you – and our courteous staff is welcoming and knowledgable. Stop by today to enjoy our newly renovated library!
